FORUM FÖR LEVANDE HISTORIA made an exhibition Called Dinner with Pol Pot. It describes a serious incident where a swedish delegation are invited to Kambodja in the seventies during the time of the horrific mass murders. They are sucessfully mislead by the government to think that everything is fine.
My illustrations were used in the part where they talk about the psychology behind it and why we can be mislead.

Screenshots are not from the final result and some of the images were different at the end. But this is what I found on my back up.

PROJECT
The project ”Operation Over The Rainbow and Beyond” is all about making dreams come true.
I wanted to travel more, drink more cocktails in the sunset and the eqvation ended in that I HAD to become a luxury cruise singer. I made a promotion kit for this purpose.Including a miniature CD with gold leafing, Titled "Luxury Cocktail Singer"
A luxury cocktail singer is the on land version of the "Luxury Cruise Singer".
And a Luxury Cocktail is the equivalence of sipping on THE GOOOOD LIFE. Diamonds, free champagne - and lots of beautiful strangers in the night.

BACKGROUND
The project that started as a graduation project within my graphic design studies at HDK 2005 exceeded my expectations and has become my ticket out of boredome. I sing with my pianist, the loyal Tomas Edelgård in beautiful cocktail bars and hotel lobbys all over sweden a few times a month ever since. (sometimes Per Johansson joins me instead or if he is busy, another lovely piano star)

STATUS
I have yet to board a luxury cruise though. (mostly because we can't stay on a boat for the minimum of 6 months to a year. or can we?)
We almost went to Dubai. But I have to say I almost like saying almost as much as going, since 6 nights a week may just be too much for this make believe singer.
But once a week or less we stand up straight for 4x45minutes in swedish hotel bars, with a repertoir of around 70 songs. Were not good at requests. We sing what doesnt bore us.

RECORDING
oh, so I just added this recording.
I both hate it and love it. Love because we really needed one. Hate because I think we sound stressed. But if you join us in a piano bar we are anything but stressed.
We just never record. Because we like to hide behind the cocktails and the grand piano and all of the interesting hotel guests. But at least you can hear a bit what we may sound like!

WHo knew being associated with garbage could be so much fun.
This is the newest of the bunch, for Stena Fastigheter, who regularly sends out info to their tenants through this bulletin. this month they want to put the emphasis on motivation for recycling.

The illustration is accompanied with some facts and numbers of how much recycled material is needed for a new car etc. actually a lot less than i would have thought.

Water colour ad for Astra Zenecas cure for migraine. Zomig Nasal lets you inhale the painkiller instead so that nausea and throwing up the medicine won't stop your quick recovery.
The idea that advertising agency INGO STHLM came up with was one of "Take the airway to relief" (excuse my poor translation. But something like that.
The airplane of the picture is the inhalation device - with its wings a bit extended to make it look even more like an aircraft.

Magazine ads, web banners an such.
INGO Made all advertising. All I did was paint/draw.

I also made an ink drawing for the instructions inside the pamphlet.
Ps. Thank you Linda Spåman for modeling with your beautiful hands!<img src="http://payload4.cargocollective.com/1/0/28587/2392175/akvarelllada-bild.jpg" border="0" width="640" height="960" width_o="935" height_o="1403" src_o="http://payload4.cargocollective.com/1/0/28587/2392175/akvarelllada-bild_o.jpg" align="left" /> <img src="http://payload4.cargocollective.com/1/0/28587/2392175/Skarmavbild 2012-02-15 kl. 10.25.15.png" border="0" width="640" height="849" width_o="693" height_o="920" src_o="http://payload4.cargocollective.com/1/0/28587/2392175/Skarmavbild 2012-02-15 kl. 10.25.15_o.png" align="left" />

This was my project at a workshop held at HDK by London based design group Åbäke in 2002. We were to pick a public space to work in and this lamp had been my favorite spot for many years as I passed it every night on my way home in Johanneberg.

I have never been afraid of the dark but this particular area behind Konsthallen is a dead angle and I always found it a bit erie to make the short cut up the stone stairs.
Once I reached this point and could see the lamp I was "safe" on a lit up street, and only had a few minutes walk untill I reached home to the top of the hill were I lived.

The lamp was overgrown by branches an looked like something out of Narnia.

I made die cut messages in white plastic foil to put on the lamp so they went unoticed in the daytime but as the lamp was lit at night they appeared communicated to passers by at night, like me.

Don't be afraid - You are almost home - Come back soon.

In 2011 the glass was broken on one of the sides of the lamp, But it has stayed intact for many years.

4 of these images (altered) were used as cover illustrations for short stories published by Novellix in fall 2011. They specialize in short stories, and they always present these four and four, always with a different illustrator for each bunch. You will be able to buy them at for example Pressbyrån before you catch a train. Choose Novellix instead of a newspaper, they cost only 50 SEK, and once you've read it you can pass it on!

Painted on Arches paper with Winsor & Newton Artist Colours, scanned and adjusted a bit in Photoshop. (colours tweaked and in some I added a detail or two, like the fence or the glasses, they are overlay images that had been scanned separately)

I gave away my copies and haven't been able to find new ones in Gothenburg. If you see these please tell me!

I want to make more book covers!
But I want to be in charge of typography as well next time!!
